Enhancement season is here and we want to make sure the voices of the ODIN community are heard!

The Enhancement Process:
Operating under the auspices of ELUNA and IGeLU, Alma and Primo product working groups
gather enhancement ideas and conduct a series of voting to help identify which ideas should
be developed by Ex Libris and included in future releases.

As a consortial member of ELUNA, ODIN participates in the process by submitting our ideas
for product improvements and voting on the submissions our consortium finds most beneficial.
As usual, ODIN has 100 votes to cast towards our collective top enhancement choices.

NERS is now CERV:
The NERS portal was decommissioned earlier this year, so the enhancement process has been
renamed CERV. This stands for Community Enhancement Requests and Voting and is pronounced “curve.”

2 new systems have taken the place of NERS:
Aha! Enhancements Portal
   - Users can create a free account and submit the enhancement ideas they would like to see
included in the current voting cycle.
*Note: Enhancements must be resubmitted each year to be eligible for the current voting cycle.
Those from previous cycles that were not voted through become archived.
   - The deadline for submitting enhancements for the 2025 cycle is January 19th. Instructions
and tips for submitting enhancement requests are attached.
   - There was a short (16 min.) webinar on submitting enhancements. The recording & presentation slides
are available on the Primo Working Group page under Tips for Primo Enhancement Requests.

ElectionBuddy
   - The ODIN Office will use this portal to submit ODIN’s shared voting ballot.
   - Unlike NERS, ElectionBuddy will not report real-time voting results.

2025 Alma & Primo Enhancement cycle timeline:

  • January 19: Deadline to submit enhancement requests in the new Enhancements Portal
    for the 2025 voting cycle.
  • January 20-March 5: The Enhancement Teams will review and vet the submissions.
  • March 10-April 6: First round of voting
  • April 9-April 10: Voting results will be reviewed by the Enhancement Teams, then sent to
Ex Libris to scope solutions and assign development points.
  • April 11-June 6: Ex Libris will assign development points based on the complexity of each
enhancement. More complex = more development points assigned.
  • June 16-June 29: For Alma, an additional round of voting will take place. For Primo, the
Enhancement team will determine if another round of voting is required. Once all voting
rounds are completed, the winning enhancements will be announced and submitted to Ex Libris.
  • After July 1: Ex Libris will deliver the accepted enhancements within one year, customarily
    by the next September (2026).
