The ODIN Office conducted an overview and informational session highlighting the latest features from the Alma/Primo VE February 2025 Feature Release most relevant to the ODIN libraries.

Intro/General Updates (Nicole)
- Feb. 9th = Release update & Sandbox refresh
- Ex Libris Accessibility Statements & VPATs
- Oracle Analytics 2024 VPAT
Primo VE (Lynn)
- Patron default sort now based on last selected type during session. If patron logged in, that selected type will carry over between logged in sessions
- Linked Open Data – enhanced authority type linkage. FAST, MESH, LCNAMES (and others) are now supported. No configuration needed but does rely on reindexing. Since data was reindexed for this release, this feature should be in place now.
- Research Assistant
- Patrons can refine search by Resource Type and Date Range both in the dropdowns and by adding a phrase at end of query.
- New link added providing information as to how to cite AI-generated content
- SOURCE section of response moved to above the Overview.
- Accessibility improvements: screen reader support for non-English AI-generated overview, reduce unnecessary info for screen reader users, “Report a Problem” improvements.
Resource Management (Liz)
- AI Metadata Assistant Update – This has entered “Phase I: Full availability.” Because of the continuous refresh of the Network Zone, there is limited utility for ODIN libraries
- Updates to the holdings search – Includes search results table view, performing actions directly from the search results, details pane including Quick-access component
- Repository search labels for title and holdings searches
- Support for COUNTER R5.1 reports
Fulfillment/Resource Sharing (Tina)
- Manage Patron Services now opt-out
- Sound Alerts in New Manage Patron Services
- Resolved Issues: Receipt printing (quick print) fixed
Acquisitions (Ginny)
- Changes to Display of PO Lines – PO Line Summary was changed to Summary and PO Lines Information was changed to General Information.
- Quick Access Links in PO Lines
- Enhanced “PO Line – Claiming" Scheduled Job Report – now includes a list of vendors to which claim letters were successfully sent, as well as list of send failures. The list includes the related PO Lines
