ODIN Workday 2023 sessions for Polaris Libraries

Grand Forks Public Library Children's Department Remodel Project by Aaron Stefanich – Grand Forks Library

The Grand Forks Public Library Children’s Dept. is undergoing a major renovation that will be completed in late May. We will discuss the remodel, along with the move to a temporary Children’s Dept. on the main floor. We will discuss how we put most of the collection in off-site storage and modified our records and patron access in Polaris.

Quick Overview of the Minitex Package of Online Library Resources by Al Peterson - ND State Library

This quick overview will review the Online Library Resources available in the Minitex package. We will examine PebbleGo, EBSCO, Gale/Cengage, and Proquest Newsstream database packages and explore the basic features of these resources.

Quick Overview of the Online Library Resources provided by the North Dakota State Library and the ODIN Office by Al Peterson – ND State Library

In this session, we examine the Online Library Resources provided by the North Dakota State Library including the Britannica resources, provided to you through a partnership between the North Dakota State Library and the ODIN office. In addition to the Britannica editions, we will look at Universal Class, Mango Languages, OCLC WorldCat package, and Ancestry Library Edition.

PAC Customization and Content Carousels: Improve the Catalog Discovery Experience by Jason Bedsaul - ODIN

Come to this Polaris session to discover the different ways we can customize the PAC to improve the catalog experience. Help your patrons better discover not only what is in your library's physical collection, but also some of the electronic subscriptions.

This session will cover:
 - Custom Search Limiters/Scopes
- Content Carousels and creating custom Record Sets
- 3rd Party Integrations: Overdrive, Kanopy, Novelist Select
- Messages for logins and notices
- Expandable menus and custom options
