New Enhancement Process for Polaris

Jan 26 2024

Innovative is implementing a new enhancement process known as the Innovative Users Group (IUG) Member Exclusive Enhancement Process (MEEP). As a consortia member of the IUG, ODIN has voting privileges during this new enhancement process and will have a spot on the Polaris Working Group.

How will it work?

  1. The Polaris Working Group will select up to 20 idea candidates from the Idea Exchange per annual cycle and submit them to Polaris Development (this year’s deadline is Feb. 2nd).
  2. Polaris Development will review the submissions and assign effort point values to each idea (Feb. 5th – March 18th). The more complex an idea is from a development standpoint, the more points it will be given.
  3. ODIN will gather library feedback on the selected improvements and vote on the most popular on behalf of the consortium (deadline April 8th).
  4. Innovative commits to deliver top-voted enhancements within 12 months.
  5. Polaris Development will work with the Polaris Working Group to ensure that enhancements meet the requirements laid out in the ideas.

The Idea Exchange allows users to submit, comment on, and vote on ideas for product enhancements. Any and all library staff are welcome to create a free account

If you have Idea Exchange entries that you would like to see submitted to the Polaris Working Group and possibly included this year’s cycle, please send those in an ODIN Help Ticket by end of this week (Friday, Jan. 26th).

Thank you!
