Discovery/PAC User Group Meeting Notes – September 9, 2026

Topics for discussion:

• Polaris 8.1 upgrade was completed July 9^th on PROD/ What’s New document. 
  Highlight session on July 15^th @ 2 pm CT.
• Vega Discover. Soft launch September 8^th. Same backend interface as Vega LX Starter.
  • Several libraries (both public and schools) have gone live – 
    list of Discover Views for Early Adopters and also those libraries that have 
    reached out with the initial customization form.
  • Special meeting held August 19^th to demo and discuss what was needed. 
    Link to event page with forms and recorded session.
  • Early Adopters Group – created own views, showcases, etc.
  • Patron My Lists were copied over to Vega Discover on Sept 7^th. 
    PLEASE NOTE: lists between PowerPAC and Vega Discover are not synced after that time!!
  • When ready to go live:
    • Notify ODIN Office – ODIN website catalog links need to be updated 
      as well as the list of LIVE views.  We can also update your PowerPAC view 
      with link to new catalog.
    • If your library has a website or is linked in from another website (such as a 
      school or city site), notify the webmaster to get things updated.
    • If using LX Starter and you have catalog links in your templates, update block 
      to new website and replace in each form that is used.

This is the user group meeting to discuss Discovery/PAC issues related to ODIN Libraries using Polaris. 
We meet from 10-11 am central on the 2nd Wednesday every other month (odd months only).

Please send along topics for the agenda at least a couple days prior to the scheduled meeting 
to the ODIN Facilitator or listserv listed below.
